The purpose of this paper is to explore the new path of combining traditional culture and modern design by
exploring the emotional application of Dunhuang's non-heritage culture - frescoes in product design.Firstly，the
background of Dunhuang's non-heritage culture is sorted out through literature review；secondly，a representative product
design case is selected by case study method to analyze how it integrates Dunhuang's non-heritage elements and realizes
the emotional expression；lastly，the validity and practicability of the study is verified through summary analysis. From the
perspective of emotional design，this study breaks through the limitations of traditional research that only focuses on form
and function. It combines the theories of art，design，psychology and other disciplines to form an interdisciplinary research
perspective. The results of the study show that the emotional application of Dunhuang non-heritage culture in product
design not only enriches the cultural connotation and aesthetic value of the product，but also enhances the user's emotional
experience and sense of identity，and injects new vitality and impetus for the inheritance and development of Dunhuang
non-heritage culture
